A little bit about Ellie's Wardrobe..

I am a 21 year old girl who has recently finished an Accounting and Marketing degree at the University of Otago. I have been renting out designer dresses with in NZ since 2014.  I originally started this business in Dunedin reaching out to poor students who couldn't afford to buy a new dress for every single event. I am now based back at home in Auckland where I was bought up, still aiming to target university students as well as school girls in order to reduce their costs spent on purchasing a new dress for an event such as a ball.

• My dresses range from size 8 - 12 (majority size 8-10's)

• Rental prices range from $30-$70 (prices include hand wash cleaning, but not dry clean or shipping costs)

 

How It Works:

1. Firstly, browse through 'Shop' and look through the photos and see what garments you like

2. ALL BOOKINGS are made through ME on FACEBOOK. To find me on Facebook, simply click the blue Facebook logo 'F' at the bottom of the page and it should come up with the 'Ellie's Wardrobe' Facebook group. If you not joined already, click join, otherwise find my name 'Ella Barclay' and flick my a private message. Please send me the links of the dresses you are interested in, the day and date of your event and if you need 'shipping (standard or rural)' or 'pick up'. 

3.  Then thats all you need to do - wait for me to reply (I try get back to you as soon as I can) and I will let you know whether it is available or not. If it is available I will send you through my bank details for you to make the total payment (Please remember shipping costs is not included in the price).

4. Once payment is made, the dress is secured under your name for that date and no one else can rent it YAY! Then I will message you closer to the time and we can arrange a time for pick up and drop off/send you the tracking number.

 

How To Secure:

• To secure a dress for the date of your event, you MUST pay for the full rent price in advance, otherwise you are running the risk of someone else wanting to rent and securing it for that same date before you.

Refunds:

1. Payment not been made?   Just chat, text or email me and let me know

2. Payment has been made but dress not yet received?  50% refund is given.

3. Payment has been made and dress has been received?  No refund given.

**Those who don’t try on- You are taking the risk of the dress not fitting.

Last Minute Rentals:

* Decide to rent less than 3 working days before your event (e.g if your event is on Saturday and you message me to rent on Wednesday)

1. If you are based in Auckland... then thats fine, we can arrange a time for you to collect.

2. If you need sending - then this is at your own risk of the garment not arriving on time. Therefore unfortunately NO refund is given, so try to message me well in advance so your guaranteed to get the dress on time.

 

Collections and Drop Offs:

• Collections are usually made the day before your event

• Before collection, your payment MUST have come through into my account. **Allow 1-2 working days for payment to come through.

• You MUST drop the dress/s back the day following your event. My dresses are to be worn for the 1 event paid for only, so therefore my dresses are rented on a 48-hour basis. If the dress has not been dropped back the day after your event, please let me know well before hand that you will drop it a day later, otherwise a $10 fee is charged.

 

Shipping:

• My prices on this site do not include shipping costs

• You are required to pay an extra $7-$8 ($10 rural) into my account for the post bag and 'courier' costs.

• You are also required to then visit the post shop the next working day (or fee will apply) to buy your own postage bag and ask for 'courier' post back to my address: Ella Barclay, 18 London Street, Central Dunedin, Dunedin 9016.

• Message me once you have sent the garment back with the tracking number please

• I will send you the dress 2-3 days before your event, so that you don't have to worry about it not arriving on time.

• If you do not post the dress back as a 'courier', meaning there is no tracking number, and if the item were to get lost in the post, then you are 100% liable of paying the full RRP of the dress in order to replace it. 

Cleaning:

• Do not hand wash yourself

• Do not dry clean (unless it has major stain that can't come out through hand wash and youv spoken to me)

• Do not iron (TIP: hang up the dress in your shower room to allow the hot steam to uncrease the crinkles)

• Do not sew anything!

• Remove any fashion tape

 

Minor Damages:
If you happen to make any minor rip, tear or hole, and is still considered up to my rental standard, you are liable to cover the repair costs. I am more than happy to take it to a repair place in which you can reimburse me the cost. Please just let me know about it, so that I can keep the dresses in perfect condition of the next rental :)

Permanent Damages/Stains:
If any major damage or stain occurs, you must let me know right away. This includes any red wine or RTD spills, paint spill, cigarette or fire hole. Depending on which dress, either you'll be required to buy another one BRAND NEW, same size and same colour. OR if that's not possible, then you are personally liable for paying 100% of the RETAIL COST of the dress which the RRP is listed on each item.
